A great opportunity to take true ownership of technical accounting at Group level within a large, international organisation. This role sits at the heart of the Group's financial reporting function, giving you the platform to shape how complex accounting matters are understood and applied across the business globally. What makes this role stand out:
You'll take the lead in building and continuously refining the Group Accounting Manual – effectively writing the playbook that guides technical accounting decisions across the organisation. Beyond that, you'll be the go‑to expert for complex or non‑routine transactions, producing high‑quality technical memos that directly influence how the business reports and discloses. This isn't a role confined to policy on paper – you'll be hands‑on in quarterly and annual financial statements, working closely with external auditors on the most technically demanding areas of the audit. You'll also stay ahead of the curve, monitoring new standards and regulatory developments and driving their implementation before they become a problem for the business. There’s a clear influence and leadership dimension too: designing and delivering US GAAP training across finance teams globally and contributing to the design and enhancement of SOX controls – shaping the control environment, not just operating within it. Why this is worth a conversation:
High‑visibility role within a large, international, publicly listed group Genuine influence over technical policy and key reporting decisions Deep exposure to complex, high‑value transactions Close collaboration with experienced finance professionals across multiple regions Autonomy to operate as the clear technical authority in your area What you’ll bring:
10+ years’ experience in audit, accounting advisory, or group accounting (Big 4 background a strong advantage) Strong, pragmatic US GAAP expertise A track record of developing accounting policy and technical documentation Solid understanding of internal controls over financial reporting; SOX experience an advantage Excellent communication skills – able to translate technical complexity into clear, actionable guidance Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, international environment
