Your profile
- University degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, Business Informatics or similar education
- 3+ years of professional experience as (Solution/Enterprise/Integration/Software) Architect in distributed systems and cloud-native microservice landscapes
- 5+ years of professional experience in the area of software development in the Java Enterprise/Spring environment
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing distributed systems in cloud-native environments as well as proficiency in Kubernetes
- Experience with software quality assurance, including load and performance testing
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies and experience in scaled agile environments (ideally organized with SAFe)
- Relevant certifications in the field of architecture are a plus
- Analytical mindset with excellent understanding of complex technical relationships and hardware-software communication
- Ability to present and communicate complex solution designs in a simple manner
- Strong ability to solve challenging problems independently as well as to work collaboratively in distributed international teams
- Ideally, experience in the field of e-mobility
- Fluent in English and preferably also fluent in German
- Travel requirements: generally remote position and traveling only as per need, usually around 8 – 16 working days per year to headquarters in Dortmund or similar Kostal locations

Your mission
- Design a scalable, secure and maintainable system architecture for vaylens’ cloud-based e-mobility application landscape (a charge point management system with microservice architecture based on Java/Spring Boot with Angular frontends).
- Analyze business requirements, specify them in the form of use cases (including description of necessary system interfaces, for example as a sequence diagram) and define associated overarching data models.
- Develop sustainable software concepts that balance performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability in the role of a solution architect.
- Define cloud infrastructure requirements in collaboration with DevOps and ensure alignment with modern cloud-native best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, project managers, developers, and DevOps engineers, in a scaled agile environment.
- Act as a technical mentor, guiding development teams on architectural best practices and architecture patterns.
- Coordinate architecture projects within our system landscape.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
