PS Core Network Engineer (m/f/d)

ppWe are seeking a motivated PS Core Network Engineer to join our Swiss Core Network team based in Zurich. You will work in an international, fast‑paced environment and collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams and customer engineering groups. You will contribute to planning, delivery and stable operation of packet‑core solutions, proactively drive improvements and take on responsibilities beyond the core job scope. /p h3Key responsibilities /h3 ul liPlan, design and deliver end‑to‑end Packet Core products and solutions (5GC, PCF, PCRF) to ensure reliable and scalable network operation /li liLead and provide technical expertise for major network deployments, upgrades, migrations and expansions /li liParticipate in testing, troubleshooting, validation and rollout of new core network features and releases /li liPrepare and maintain technical documentation: design documents, runbooks, procedures and handover packages /li liFollow internal processes and use company systems to support project delivery and change management /li liAct as technical interface to customer engineering teams and support technical escalations /li liSupport automation, optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operations and deployment efficiency /li /ul h3Required profile (must‑have) /h3 ul liMinimum 3 years’ hands‑on experience in network operations, engineering or delivery projects (preferably core networks) /li liProven practical experience with 5GC / Packet Core products /li liSolid knowledge of PCF/PCRF and familiarity with VoLTE / VoNR call flows /li liStrong IP networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP) and Linux/UNIX command‑line experience /li liBasic understanding of telco cloud concepts, virtualization and container platforms /li liSelf‑starter with a flexible working style and ability to work independently in a dynamic, customer‑facing environment /li liExcellent communication skills in English; proficiency in German is an advantage /li liEligible to work in Switzerland /li /ul h3Preferred qualifications /h3 ul liExperience with Huawei NFV/IMS products or other vendor core solutions /li liFamiliarity with cloud‑native technologies (Kubernetes, CNF/VM operations) /li liExperience with automation/orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD) and monitoring platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) /li liRelevant certifications/training (e.g., 3GPP, CCNP, Linux, 5G/Packet Core) /li liCustomer‑facing or project delivery experience in multinational environments /li /ul h3Working conditions benefits /h3 ul liHybrid working model where applicable; regular site and customer visits required /li liCompetitive Swiss compensation and benefits package /li liOpportunities for professional development, certifications and career progression /li liCollaborative, international team and challenging technical projects /li /ul h3Note /h3 pOnly candidates authorised to work in Switzerland will be considered.
