Position Overview:
The Head of Product Security will lead their efforts in safeguarding the security and integrity of software applications tailored for the automotive industry. This pivotal role involves creating and implementing comprehensive security strategies, driving best practices, and fostering a security-first culture throughout the development lifecycle. With a strong background in application security and leadership, you will collaborate closely with product teams, engineering groups, and strategic partners to embed security into every aspect of our solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the product security roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational and automotive market goals.
- Inspire and mentor a team of security professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment focused on security excellence.
- Champion a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating emerging security threats.
- Partner with product development teams and automotive technology stakeholders to integrate robust security measures into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Lead vendor management to ensure third-party security findings are reviewed, addressed, and resolved effectively.
- Provide expert guidance on secure design practices, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessments tailored to automotive sector requirements.
Vulnerability Management:
- Oversee the identification, prioritization, and remediation of vulnerabilities across automotive applications.
- Collaborate with teams to reproduce, triage, and resolve security vulnerabilities efficiently.
- Drive ongoing security improvements based on penetration testing results and security reviews.
Reporting and Compliance:
- Report security performance metrics to senior leadership, ensuring transparency on risk management and key performance indicators.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and automotive security regulations.
Security Controls and Innovation:
- Manage tools and controls, including automated testing and continuous monitoring for application security.
- Innovate security processes and tooling to address evolving automotive security challenges.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Deep understanding of security tools and technologies, including application vulnerability assessment platforms.
- Expertise in secure coding practices and frameworks relevant to automotive software development.
- Strong experience in DevSecOps processes and secure cloud practices; familiarity with Azure DevOps is a plus.
- Proven ability to address security risks in complex environments, adhering to industry regulations such as PCI DSS.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Minimum of 5 years in application or product security roles, with leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge of common security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies, including OWASP Top 10 principles.
