Senior ABAP Developer

Location: Remote (Germany) or optional on-site in North‑West Germany.

Employment: Full‑time (or part‑time), permanent.

The Company

A large German industrial group operating multiple manufacturing sites. Their central IT unit supports a wide range of production businesses and is expanding its SAP development capability as part of a long‑term S/4 transformation and modernization roadmap.

The Role

You will join an experienced internal SAP team responsible for designing and implementing new functionality, modernizing legacy processes, and supporting a multi‑year S/4HANA transformation programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimize SAP applications using ABAP/ABAP OO, CDS Views, OData.
• Support S/4HANA development workstreams and contribute to new architecture decisions.
• Implement enhancements and integrations (IDoc, APIs, web services).
• Work closely with internal business units and SAP consultants in agile project teams.
• Modernize the existing SAP landscape and introduce new SAP technologies including BTP.
• Ensure high‑quality documentation, testing, performance tuning and code standards.

Essential Skills

• Strong experience in ABAP and ABAP OO.
• Hands‑on knowledge of CDS Views and OData.
• Experience designing SAP enhancements and interfaces.
• Solid understanding of SAP business processes.
• German language skills (B2+).

Nice to Have

• Experience with S/4HANA projects.
• Knowledge of Web Dynpro, IDoc, API frameworks or SAP BTP.
• Familiarity with agile delivery environments.
