WHAT WE OFFER

Our functional area CCO (Chief Commercial Officer) is responsible for innovation management, production and all commercial tasks of our business entities. This also includes seven distinct business entities, including the Coatings & Adhesives business entity. The Business Entity Coatings & Adhesives (CA) deals with the development, production and marketing of polyurethane raw materials for the manufacture of industrial paints, special adhesives and coatings, for example for textiles, in the medical sector or for 3D printing.

In addition to our diverse benefits, you can expect an attractive starting salary between €75,700.00/year and €91,600.00/year plus a variable component for a full-time position. The starting salary is based on your qualifications and professional experience.

In your new role, you will:

1. Lead the lab and manage the technical staff – interns, PhD students and postdocs.
2. Further develop the laboratory staff.
3. Develop new and more sustainable monomers relevant for the development of new (poly)isocyanates.
4. Work closely with production to optimize existing production processes for our raw materials.
5. Develop new formulations and laboratory methods as well as proactively new project ideas.
6. Be responsible for systems and devices in your area, including investment planning.
7. Initiate and lead projects according to a systematic project management process as well as interdisciplinary project teams with strategic and complex questions on a global level.
8. Initiate external cooperation with universities and publicly supported projects where necessary.
9. Conceive, implement and evaluate strategic, complex studies/experiments and interpret the results with subsequent presentation in various committees and congresses.
10. Manage and secure IP and patent protection (Patents, FTO).
11. Be accountable for the documentation of research and laboratory results to save Know-How as well as for ensuring that legal and operational standards regarding safety and quality assurance are met.

WHAT YOU OFFER

1. Hold a PhD degree in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry or a comparable field.
2. Several years of professional experience in the research and development area with excellent knowledge in polymer chemistry and/or organic chemistry, preferably with formulation, processing and application know-how in coatings and adhesives, preferably polyurethane-based.
3. Master the most important analytical methods in chemistry.
4. Combine excellent analytical with excellent communication and presentation skills.
5. Bring strong leadership skills and enjoy developing others and yourself continuously.
6. Proactively design and implement change processes considering entrepreneurial activity and content requirements.
7. Ideally have years of experience in the management of a laboratory and technical staff, guiding undergraduates and/or doctoral students.
8. Experience in working with international and interdisciplinary teams.
9. Fluent German and English skills written and spoken.

The personal contract level will depend on your qualifications/experience and company regulations in Germany.
