Senior Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to provide temporary support to the Finance team for a period of 9 months at a 60-80% workload. Please note that more hours will be required at the start of the month around the monthly close and less at the end.

As Senior Accountant, you will hold primary responsibility for:

1. Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, preparation of figures and reports, and VAT returns.
2. Operational responsibility for financial closings in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR), including reporting financial results, reviewing general and sub-ledgers, account reconciliations, closing entries, accruals, inventory valuations, consolidations, and OR-based valuations and postings.
3. Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns (Switzerland).
4. Responsibility for group closings (USA) on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
5. Participation in accounting/finance-related projects.
6. Providing guidance and supervision to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team members regarding accounting topics, especially in the absence of the Finance Manager Switzerland.
7. Ensuring all accounting tasks, including financial closings and reporting, are completed timely, legally compliant, and aligned with policies.
8. Maintaining proper functioning of the interface between local ERP and group ERP systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Higher education in business administration (University of Applied Sciences or University), focusing on Finance & Accounting.
2. 5-10 years of experience in a similar role.
3. Proficiency in German and English.
4. Structured, independent working style with a high sense of responsibility and reliability.
5. Resilient, motivated, hands-on, flexible.
6. Knowledge of Navision is an advantage.
