Sales Trader

A well-established Japanese trading house is currently looking for a Trader to join their busy Steel Dept in their Amsterdam Branch.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to advance their career within the company.

TYPE : Permanent, full-time

WORKING HOURS : 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday

• Currently, hybrid working style, working in office 3 days a week

START : ASAP

LOCATION : Amsterdam – the Netherlands

RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Visiting suppliers & customers worldwide and building good relationships
2. Conducting negotiations on buying and selling activities (e.g. price, specifications and delivery conditions)
3. Collaborating with admins for documentation, transport, shipping and insurance arrangements
4. Exploring new customers and projects in various countries & industries including supply chain establishment
5. Setting up new credit lines by analyzing financial reports
6. Monitoring market trends, industrial indices, price movements to seek business opportunities worldwide
7. Resolving claims and complaints with a technical & commercial approach
8. Attending internal & external visitors including arrangement of transportation and accommodations
9. Understanding team’s sales targets and setting up own goals
10. Daily reporting to manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

1. At least 3 years of work experience (work experience at any Japanese companies will be advantageous)
2. Right to work (e.g. EU nationality, Dutch work permit)
3. Business level English and Japanese
4. Minimum Bachelor’s or equivalent
5. Proficient with e-mail (Outlook) and Microsoft Office applications
6. Interpersonal communication skills with a customer-oriented mindset
7. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and stakeholders
8. Strong organizational and time management skills
9. EU driving license (for business trips)
10. Experience in Sales / Trader job is preferable

PREFERRED SKILLS :

1. Other European languages (especially Dutch and German)
2. Experience in the international trading field with knowledge of trade terms
