Product Owner, Developer Experience - DevEx / DX (f/m/d)
Hexagon Robotics is a division of Hexagon - a global leader in precision measurement. Established in 2025, Hexagon Robotics develops humanoid robots for industrial sectors to address labor shortages and enable the transition from automation to autonomy. The first humanoid product, AEON, was launched in June 2025 and combines agility, awareness, spatial intelligence and versatility to provide a market-leading solution for automotive, transportation, aerospace, manufacturing, and logistics customers.
We are looking for a Product Owner, Developer Experience (DevEx / DX) to shape the internal platform experience that enables our engineering teams to build, test, deploy, and scale robotics software with confidence. In this role, you will act as the voice of internal engineering users, define high-impact platform priorities, and work across software, infrastructure, security, and robotics teams to remove friction from the developer journey. You will work iteratively and hands-on in a fast-moving robotics R&D environment, helping turn prototypes into scalable engineering systems.
Your Mission
- Own and evolve the Developer Experience roadmap across build systems, CI/CD, testing workflows, developer tooling, and infrastructure enablement
- Define and drive adoption of "golden paths" for software delivery: standardized patterns for continuous integration, deployment, observability, testing, and environment provisioning
- Treat engineers as customers: gather structured feedback, run internal user research, and turn recurring friction across the software development lifecycle into prioritized product work
- Translate the feedback into an actionable roadmap for the engineering teams working on developer tooling by working closely with DevOps, Build Systems & Infra experts
- Balance quick wins for day-to-day productivity against long-term platform scalability, reliability, and technical debt reduction
- Establish and track the metrics that matter: platform adoption, build times, deployment frequency, lead time for changes, release stability, and developer satisfaction
- Introduce self-service capabilities so teams can provision environments, access tools, and follow secure engineering practices without waiting on anyone
- Own documentation, discoverability, and usability so internal platforms are intuitive and well supported
Your Skillset
What we are looking for
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Robotics, or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Technical Program Manager, or similar role in a platform engineering, developer platform, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused environment
- Several years hands-on experience as a software developer, with enough technical depth to challenge assumptions and make informed trade-offs with highly technical stakeholders
- Strong understanding of modern software development workflows, including version control, CI/CD, automated testing, release processes, and developer tooling
- Working knowledge of infrastructure, cloud platforms, build systems, packaging systems, test automation, and observability concepts
- Ability to define product strategy and translate ambiguous engineering problems into clear priorities, user stories, and measurable outcomes
- Experience conducting user interviews, synthesizing feedback, and using qualitative and quantitative signals to guide roadmap decisions
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills in cross-functional and multicultural environments
Proficiency in english. Working Language is English.
Nice to have
- Hands-on development experience in robotics, embedded systems, edge software, or industrial technology
- Experience working with engineering teams that build internal platforms, developer portals, shared services, or cloud infrastructure products
- Familiarity with developer productivity frameworks and platform success measures such as DORA metrics, service adoption, and support burden
- Experience in regulated, safety-conscious, or hardware-adjacent industries
What Success Looks Like
- Engineering teams reach for the golden paths because they are the fastest route, not because they are mandated
- Platform investments show measurable improvement in productivity, stability, and internal user satisfaction
- Cross-functional teams align around common standards without losing the flexibility needed for innovation
What You’ll Get
- Flexible working hours and a hybrid model for real work-life balance
- CHF 500 mobility credit for sustainable commuting
- Bonus system & strong pension contributions
- Tailored training & development opportunities
- Relocation support for a smooth start
- Discounts on health, mobility & entertainment
- Team events and a flat hierarchy where your voice counts
- A warm, international culture built on respect and collaboration
