Help us grow and be more impactful! The “Signal Processing & AI” Group of our “Medtech” Business Unit, based in Bern, Switzerland, is looking for an efficient, inspiring and communicative Senior Biomedical Signal Processing Engineer.
Your Mission Your mission will be to design and develop algorithms and AI solutions for strategic projects in medtech and digital health with a strong focus on innovative vital sign monitoring solutions and their impact on patient treatment, early detection and prediction of health conditions, and decision support system solutions. On this mission, you will engage in discussions with industrial partners, academic and clinical collaborators to build impactful projects. In parallel, you will acquire knowledge with the support of Medtech Business Unit colleagues to define improvements and innovative applications with a specific focus on blood pressure and brain monitoring.
Your Responsibilities
Project execution: design and develop real-time embedded algorithms and data driven/DNN solutions; collect data through pilot studies and clinical trials; perform verification activities; and prepare the documentation required to ensure software design compliance with CSEM guidelines and standards.
Leadership: guide and coordinate the technical work of other signal processing engineers.
Research and business development: help identify potential customers and collaborators (researchers as well as clinicians), manage IP-related topics, define the research strategy, and keep the technology survey report up to date.
Management: manage research and industrial projects in biomedical signal processing, including optical blood pressure, brain and cardiac monitoring, and decision-support system design.
Customer engagement: understand customer needs and translate them into clear requirements for signal processing, algorithm design, and system development.
Quality system improvement: help maintain and enhance the quality system to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards, particularly ISO 13485.
Your Profile Know‑How
Superior level of education (MSc or PhD) in Engineering.
Proven experience in real-time embedded signal processing and ML/DNN-based solutions.
Experience in proposal writing and grant acquisition for research and/or industrial projects, combined with a strong professional network, is a major asset.
Experience leading multi-disciplinary research and/or industrial projects.
Experience in medical device development is an asset, particularly with ISO 13485, IEC 60601-1, and IEC 62304.
Fluency in English is required, along with French and/or German; knowledge of an additional language is an asset.
