The organisation focuses on novel therapies in Oncology and Ophthalmology and is also currently developing a world-leading pipeline in Neuroscience and Dermatology with one of the strongest pipelines of Phase II/III studies in the world. /p pWe are currently looking for a: /p h3Data Scientist and Translational Research, 6-month contract, Basel /h3 h3Main Tasks: /h3 ul liApproaching model multi-modal clinical data to identify biomarkers predictive of disease progression and treatment response, and to nominate novel therapeutic target hypotheses /li liDeveloping and applying a portfolio of pre-clinical models derived from internal and public data to departmental projects /li liWorking closely with a core team of Translational Research Data Science scientists fluent in wet and dry lab practices /li liActively participating on interdisciplinary teams to model biology and guide impactful decision-making /li liBuild alliances with external partners at top healthcare institutions /li /ul h3Your Profile: /h3 ul libRelevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required /b /li liDemonstrated working knowledge and application of statistics and data modeling to large scale life-sciences data /li liProficiency in R/Python and competency working in a Linux environment /li liHands-on experience applying AI and machine learning methods to scientific or RD data, including large language models and agentic workflows /li liHands-on experience in integration of large multi-omics data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics) to answer key scientific questions related to understanding disease /li liHands-on expertise across transcriptomics, genetics, and proteomics, including single-cell and bulk RNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics, CITE-seq, CyTOF, and imaging mass cytometry /li liHands-on industry experience modeling biomedical research data /li liExperience working with or fine-tuning foundation models, for example in biology, chemistry or clinical data (Desirable) /li /ul #J-18808-Ljbffr
