Your Impact

You are responsible for growing and managing Cytel’s largest customers. As a senior business leader, you will be developing account plans to meet Cytel’s growth, revenue and profitability targets, providing operational oversight of existing work to provide a positive client experience and to chair governance forums with our clients to drive innovation into the relationship.

You will work closely with current customers as a trusted advisor to deeply understand their unique company challenges and goals. You will consult with customer’s procurement, alliance management and operational stakeholders to create solutions that will help them reach their business goals while evangelizing Cytel’s vision and account strategies.

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrated track record of minimum 7-10 years leading operational teams in the biopharmaceutical, CRO, and/or life sciences industries.
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, preferably an advance degree (MS, MBA, etc.) in relevant scientific discipline or statistics.
  • 5 years management experience, with some in the CRO environment
  • 1-3 years experience setting, approving and negotiating pricing and discounting schemes.
  • Knowledge of the drug development process with particular emphasis on the services needed to support the data requirements of clinical trials in Phases I-IV (DM, Stats, Programming, PM and Medical Writing).
  • Experience creating positive meeting opportunities at senior levels in clinical development or equivalent groups.
  • Experience in the development of account plans preferred.
  • Ability and desire to learn and articulate technical aspects and Cytel’s value propositions.
  • Good communications skills and ability to interact with a diverse, international customer base including senior management and executives across various stakeholder groups in existing clients.
  • Strong problem-solving skills coupled with the capacity to understand and articulate primary issues around study design and data analytics.
  • Organizational skills to secure internal support and resources (people, marketing materials, etc.)
  • Entrepreneurial and self-motivated, without the need for significant infrastructure and support, an understanding of the dynamics of small, high-growth companies, the ability to work in a rapidly changing environment with research driven founders.

Some of Your Main Responsibilities and Deliverables May Include

Commercial

  • Oversee development and implementation of global account plans and customer strategies to meet overall Cytel growth, revenue and profitability targets for the assigned accounts across all Cytel activities
  • Provide guidance related to operational strategy and pricing for proposals
  • Oversee development and implementatino of project strategies and selling propositions, including support for and attendance at bid defenses
  • Approve budgets and discounts (new projects and changes in scope) for assigned projects across Cytel’s Clinical Development Services Businesses
  • Ensure proper handover for newly awarded projects to project teams across the company
  • Maintain regular contact with clients in assigned grouping, leading Cytel-Sponsr Governance committees for example

Operations

  • Provide operational oversight of all project activities for assigned clients
  • As relevant, ensure monthly revenue review meetings for assigned projects (revenue recognition and forecasts)
  • Identify potential changes in scope and ensure PM / Proposal groups quantify changes orders in a timely manner or have project teams implement appropriate remediation actions to return projects to point of sales profitability targets
  • Negotiate final change order amounts to balance customer satisfaction and Cytel profitability targets
  • Conduct regular operational review of projects with assigned accounts to ensure project delivery is on time with high quality
  • Support Cytel teams in resolving issues on their own, and act as a point of escalation for issues that cannot be resolved by the Cytel project teams
