You'll take full ownership of finance at DACMA with a direct line to our management team.
This is a hands-on finance function built for a hardware start-up in its scale-up phase, close to management, close to the numbers, close to every decision that matters.
You're the person who knows exactly where we stand financially, where we're heading, and what it takes to get
there.
- Integrated financial plan (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) as a living management tool
- Liquidity and budget planning with scenarios and sensitivities
- Monthly reporting to management, shareholders, and the advisory board
- Working capital and investment planning (CapEx, inventory, supplier terms) along our production and component
procurement
Direct Air Capture Business Model
- Further development of our unit economics (production cost per plant, cost per tonne of CO₂, economies of scale
- Costing and pricing for customer projects
- Translating technical decisions into financial consequences, and vice versa
- Identifying and assessing financing options (equity, debt, state, federal, and EU funding programs)
- Independently managing financing rounds and bank discussions, from data room to credit line
Accounting, Tac & Compliance
- Managing tax advisors and auditors
- Annual financial statements and funding compliance documentation
- Clean interplay between accounting, controlling, and contracts
- Building lean finance processes that grow with us
- Treasury, banking relationships, and hedging currency (FX) risk in our international business
Must-haves
- At least 5 years of experience in finance, ideally including some time in a start-up, scale-up, hardware, cleantech,
or deep tech environment, so the pace and energy of a growing company feels like home
- You've built an integrated financial plan from scratch and carried it successfully through a financing round, working confidently with investors, banks, and/or public funding bodies
- Confident handling of HGB financial statements, tax advisors, and auditors; very strong Excel/modeling skills, you
- build models other people can understand
- Business fluent German, fluent English (our customers and partners are international)
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with cleantech funding (IFB, BMWK, EU programs, Innovation Fund)
- Knowledge of carbon removal markets, CO₂ certificates, or CDR offtake structures
- Experience with project financing or export/international business
- Some exposure to employee participation programs (VSOP, hurdle shares)
- Start-up mentality: you don't wait for processes to appear, you build them, and you're just as ready to handle the
books yourself as to lead a team once there's one to lead
- Clear communication: you can explain to engineers what a margin is, and let them explain to you why an adsorber
just got more expensive
- Steady under pressure, calm when things are uncertain
