Postdoctoral Research in Tissue Organogenesis

The group of Prof. Dr. Meritxell Huch at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics is seeking talented postdoctoral researchers. The focus of research is on understanding the mechanisms of tissue organogenesis and repair, with particular emphasis on fibrosis and cancer. The position offers the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment utilizing state-of-the-art mouse and human organoid models.

Designation

  • Postdoctoral Researcher (M/F/D)

Research Area

  • Mechanisms of Tissue Organogenesis and Repair

Location

  • Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, Pfotenhauerstr. 108, 01307 Dresden, Germany

Minimum Requirements

  • Documented experience in molecular, cell culture, and in vivo techniques (e.g., tissue culture, mouse models, FACS, genome-wide omics-approaches)
  • Research background in epigenetics and metabolism, cell biology, cell-matrix, or cell-adhesion is highly advantageous
  • Excellent communication and data presentation skills
  • Excellent command of the English language

Job Description

  • The main aim is to identify molecular and cellular mechanisms regulating tissue repair and emergence of diseases from their deregulation.
  • The research involves exploring gene regulation layers like metabolic rewiring and cell-cell interactions in tissue regeneration.
  • The work will also encompass studying cell adhesion and cell matrix interactions to understand tissue dynamics when homeostasis is challenged.
  • The position is full-time, initially for 2 years, with the possibility of extension.
  • Salary and social benefits will comply with the German public service collective agreement (TVöD, EG13 100%), with a starting gross salary ranging from EUR 58,000 to 74,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

How to Apply
