RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (POSTDOC), TU Berlin / BIFOLD, Germany

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (POSTDOC): The Database Systems and Information Management (DIMA) Group at TU Berlin, in collaboration with BIFOLD, invites applications for Research Associates (Postdoctoral Researchers with tenure track). The positions focus on cutting-edge research in data management, data systems, and data science. The research areas include technologies for processing massively distributed data streams, scalable data analytics infrastructures, and responsible data management practices. In addition to research, associates will have teaching duties, including mentoring students and coordinating interdisciplinary research projects.

Designation: Research Associate (Postdoc, E14, DIMA)

Research Area:

• Technologies and systems for scalable and efficient processing of massively distributed data streams.
• Scalable data analytics infrastructures, hardware-software co-design, and market mechanisms.
• Technologies and systems for responsible data management ensuring transparency, repeatability, and traceability.

Location: TU Berlin / BIFOLD

Minimum Requirements:

• PhD in a relevant discipline.
• Expertise in big data analytics, benchmarking, data science, scalable data management, or hardware-based processing technologies.
• Hands-on implementation experience in big data systems (e.g., Apache Flink, Apache Spark), database systems (SQL, NoSQL), or machine learning systems.
• Good knowledge of German and English (strongly desired).

Job Description:

• Conduct research in the specified areas.
• Teach and mentor Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary research projects.
• Fulfill teaching duties.
