With the recent acquisition of
Baume & Mercier , Damiani Group is entering a new chapter of international development. We are building a
lean, entrepreneurial and highly commercially focused organisation , designed to combine the agility of a growing luxury group with the standards and discipline required to manage a global portfolio of prestigious brands. The
Business Development Director – APAC / MEIA
will play a critical role in this transformation, taking ownership of the commercial performance of the assigned region and ensuring strong alignment between Headquarters, brands, markets and local partners. The role requires a combination of
strategic thinking, commercial leadership, market knowledge and hands‑on execution . THE ROLE
ROLE PURPOSE
The Business Development Director owns the
commercial performance and development of the APAC / MEIA region , with responsibility for delivering sustainable growth, strengthening distribution and elevating the quality of the Group's presence across the markets. Acting as the key interface between
HQ, Brands, Supply Chain, Marketing and local teams/distributors , the Business Development Director ensures that regional strategy is translated into clear market plans and measurable commercial results. The role combines
business development, key account management, distribution strategy, market coordination and execution excellence . The successful candidate will be expected to challenge existing ways of working, identify new opportunities and actively contribute to building a more consistent and elevated luxury experience across the region. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & COMMERCIAL PERFORMANCE
Own the commercial performance of the assigned APAC / MEIA markets, ensuring that each market delivers against its annual and monthly business objectives. Own regional sales performance , ensuring each market achieves its wholesale turnover, margin and sell‑out objectives, while proactively identifying risks and corrective actions. Develop and drive the annual commercial plan for each market , translating Group and brand strategies into clear sales targets, distribution priorities, door productivity objectives, assortment strategies and action plans. Identify and develop new business opportunities , including new markets, strategic partners, high‑potential accounts and opportunities to expand the Group's presence within existing markets. Optimise the commercial performance of the existing network , analysing productivity by door, assortment performance, sell‑out and market potential to ensure resources are allocated to the most strategic opportunities. Manage product allocations in close partnership with Supply Chain , with particular focus on novelties, launches and high‑demand products, ensuring optimal stock availability while maintaining healthy inventory levels. Lead monthly business reviews with local markets and partners , establishing a rigorous KPI‑driven approach covering sell‑in, sell‑out, stock cover, aging, margins, door productivity and pipeline development. Lead and support strategic corporate initiatives , including key corporate deals, new store openings, renovations, relocations and major commercial projects, ensuring alignment between commercial objectives and brand positioning. Lead Key Account Management for the assigned region , developing strong senior‑level relationships with strategic partners and taking direct ownership of negotiation strategy, commercial terms, business plans and long‑term account development. Act as a
business partner to local markets , challenging performance, providing direction and support, and ensuring accountability for agreed commercial plans. A core dimension of the role is to create
stronger coordination and consistency across the markets , while respecting local market specificities. Coordinate and align the regional markets around a common commercial vision , ensuring that priorities, initiatives and execution are clearly understood and consistently implemented. Harmonise
pricing architecture, launch timing, product introductions, VM guidelines and commercial communication
across markets to protect brand equity and minimise grey‑market and cross‑border leakage. Lead the
transition of distributor relationships from the Richemont legacy model to Damiani Group standards , ensuring a smooth evolution of processes, commercial governance, reporting and brand execution. Monitor and actively manage the
distribution network development , including store openings, closures, renovations, relocations and Capex projects, ensuring that each investment contributes to the strategic development of the brand and market. Coordinate
regional launches and key commercial initiatives , ensuring that new products and campaigns are executed consistently and at the expected level of luxury across all relevant markets. Establish a strong
Area community , creating regular forums for market leaders and partners to exchange insights, share best practices and address common challenges. Lead
quarterly Area business calls and market reviews , creating transparency on performance, priorities and action plans while fostering a collaborative regional culture. Continuously assess the quality and relevance of the distribution network, identifying opportunities to
upgrade, rationalise or selectively expand the network
in line with the Group’s luxury positioning. 3. DISTRIBUTION EXCELLENCE, BRAND COORDINATION & TRAINING
Ensure that every customer touchpoint reflects the quality, positioning and identity of the Damiani Group's brands. Elevate the quality of the distribution network , ensuring that stores, points of sale and key accounts consistently meet Damiani Group's luxury standards. Monitor and improve
VM compliance, brand presentation, product visibility and storytelling , working closely with Brand and Marketing teams to ensure a consistent customer experience. Ensure that local teams and partners fully understand the
Damiani Group brand portfolio , their individual positioning, heritage, product universes and commercial priorities. Coordinate and facilitate
training programmes for local teams and partners , covering jewellery expertise, watch technical knowledge, product features, brand storytelling, selling techniques and luxury customer experience. Partner closely with Brand, Marketing and Retail teams to ensure that
brand strategy is translated effectively into local market execution . Identify capability gaps within markets and partners and develop targeted actions to improve
commercial effectiveness, product knowledge and brand representation . Promote a culture of continuous improvement, using market feedback and customer insights to enhance both commercial performance and brand execution. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Experience
Minimum 10 years of professional experience
in luxury, ideally within jewellery, watches or a closely related high‑end consumer business. Strong track record in
international business development, wholesale, distribution management and/or commercial leadership . Proven experience managing
APAC and/or MEIA markets , with a strong understanding of the region’s luxury distribution landscape. Experience managing distributors, agents and/or strategic retail partners, including senior‑level negotiations and commercial agreements. Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi‑market environments and deliver measurable commercial results. Experience in
luxury retail, wholesale or multi‑brand environments
is highly desirable. Leadership & Skills
Strong
commercial and entrepreneurial mindset , with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and turn them into tangible business results. Strategic thinker who is equally comfortable
setting the direction and getting hands‑on into execution . Excellent analytical skills and strong understanding of commercial KPIs, with the ability to translate data into clear actions. Strong negotiation and stakeholder‑management capabilities, particularly with senior partners and Key Accounts. Ability to influence and coordinate teams
without direct reporting lines , creating alignment across HQ, brands, markets and external partners. Strong understanding of luxury brand positioning and the importance of
distribution quality, exclusivity and customer experience . Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to interact senior management and external stakeholders. Highly collaborative, pragmatic and solution‑oriented, with the ability to operate effectively in a
lean, fast‑moving and entrepreneurial organisation . Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned region. Languages
