ROOTED: Webinar Series

Join us for a four-day webinar series, ending in a Salon style meet and greet, uncovering tricks and tips for integrating yourself and your art into the German creative and bureaucratic system .

Our ROOTED Community Series is comprised of workshops, webinars, and an annual festival produced by the Apricots. This educational outreach program is designed to bridge the gap between international artists and Berlin’s local vibrant arts scene.

Each 1.5 hours of uninterrupted information covering the following topics:

1. Entering (and staying) in the German System: Integrating für Artists // Led by Angela Fegers
   February 19th, 10:30am – 11:45am
   Learn tips and tricks for moving abroad – entering and not leaving the German system. Visa hacks, KSK tips, Social Security info, Permanent Residency/long-term goals, and new perspectives for taking a leap into your new home.
2. How to succeed in grant applications // Tips for writing led by Yu Bai
   February 20th, 10:30am – 11:45am
   This webinar will focus on understanding the funding system, tips on possible fundings, culture politics behind the jury selection, writing hacks, and insider knowledge for a successful grant application in the arts.
3. The Art of Budgeting: How to shape your Budget into the German System // Led by Nadine Freisleben
   February 21st, 10:30am – 11:45am
   Learn tips and tricks for fitting your budget for your life or show into the German system. Learn secrets to surviving on a budget within the German system, budgeting your life and your show, and hacks to stay afloat in hard times.
4. Create the hype, sell out the show: the branding & marketing tips big companies don’t want you to know // Led by Monica Manarino
   February 22nd, 10:30am – 11:45am
   Ever wondered why everyone has heard of sleep no more? Or why you know when ___ is in town doing a show? That’s the magic of branding and marketing. In this webinar, we will take a look at two case studies, using them as a springboard to understand why they’re successful and how they use branding as a secret weapon.
