In this critical leadership role, you will drive exponential growth, develop scalable processes, and lead a high-performing global sales organization. Location: Preferred locations are Copenhagen, Hamburg, or Helsinki, with flexibility for other Danfoss offices across Europe. A hybrid work model is available.
This role involves 20-50 travel days annually, primarily within Europe and the US.
Job Responsibilities
As the new Global Head of Direct Sales, your responsibilities will include:
- Accelerate Business Growth: Drive exponential growth, aiming for a 4x increase in direct sales revenue. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve ambitious revenue targets through both new customer acquisition and expansion of the existing customer base.
- Structure and Optimize the Sales Organization: Build, structure, and optimize a direct sales team comprising ~19 FTEs across multiple regions, ensuring alignment with company goals. Introduce best practices in sales processes, performance tracking, and team management to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Enhance Sales Capabilities and Performance: Recruit, develop, and mentor top-tier sales talent, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability. Drive continuous improvement within the team to ensure skill development and alignment with strategic goals.
- Collaborate with the Commercial Leadership Team: Partner with peers in indirect sales, marketing, business development, customer success, and revenue operations to align on commercial strategies and objectives. Contribute to integrated business strategies that drive sustainable sales growth.
- Develop and Implement Scalable Sales Processes: Design scalable processes and systems to support rapid growth and geographic expansion. Leverage CRM and other tools for pipeline management, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making.
The ideal candidate is passionate about driving digital innovation in software and IoT, with extensive experience in managing and scaling B2B SaaS solutions within industrial or HVAC contexts. To excel in this role, you will bring:
- Sales Expertise: Proven experience in selling software and digital services in a SaaS environment, with in-depth knowledge of sales cycles, customer needs, and market trends.
- Strategic Leadership: Demonstrated success in building and leading sales organizations within complex, matrix structures, leveraging cross-functional teams to drive results.
- Hyper Growth Achievements: Significant track record of driving rapid revenue growth in scale-up or enterprise settings, achieving and exceeding ambitious sales targets.
- Leadership & Team Building: Proven ability to inspire and lead high-performing, inclusive teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and success.
- Execution and Performance Management: Proficiency in implementing sales performance tracking systems to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate value propositions effectively.
- Strong experience in pricing strategies, budgeting, and profitability analysis.
- Pragmatic, hands-on, and results-oriented, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
