Role Overview
As the VP of IT Operations & Security, you will spearhead the transformation of IT environments across various operational entities, addressing legacy challenges and implementing a centralized, secure, and efficient IT infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role in driving standardization, enhancing cybersecurity, and aligning IT systems with organizational goals. This is a high-impact role requiring seniority, strategic vision, and a hands-on approach to execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- IT Environment Analysis & Standardization: Assess internal IT environments across entities and design group-wide standards for IT, communication, and collaboration infrastructure.
- Centralized Implementation: Implement these standards across operational entities in alignment with business priorities, ensuring cost-effective and secure IT operations.
- Strategic Development: Define and refine the group’s IT infrastructure strategy, including license procurement, cost optimization, and implementation of modern IT solutions (e.g., CRM, HCM, BI, Data Platforms).
- Cybersecurity & Compliance: Develop and maintain IT compliance, data protection standards, and cybersecurity processes, contributing to the establishment of an Information Security Management System (ISMS).
- IT Transformation Leadership: Lead IT transformation projects, resolve legacy issues, and drive initiatives in historically developed environments with high independence and resilience.
- Service Provider Management: Build and manage relationships with external IT service providers, ensuring efficient operations and cost optimization.
- IT Governance: Develop KPIs, manage IT budgets, and oversee license management processes.
- Advisory Role: Act as a consultant to senior leadership and operational managers, providing guidance on IT strategies and infrastructure.
Requirements:
- A degree or extensive experience in IT with a proven track record in leading IT organizations.
- Deep expertise in IT infrastructure, including Windows Server, Linux, Networking, Microsoft 365, Cloud Environments, Backup, and Security.
- Significant experience in group structures and matrix organizations, preferably in international contexts.
- Proficiency in German and English, with strong communication and team-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement IT solutions in complex and legacy environments.
- Experience in project management (both agile and traditional) and vendor management.
- Exposure to private equity (PE) or venture capital (VC) contexts is a plus.
- High willingness to travel and the ability to adapt to dynamic challenges with a pragmatic, results-oriented mindset.
Inherited Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of IT Operations and Security specialists managing infrastructure, security protocols, and compliance.
- Oversee the use of tools such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, Dynamics, and Azure to streamline communication, collaboration, and security.
Compensation & Work Model:
- Work Model: Fully remote position, offering flexibility and autonomy.
- Start Date: May 2025, or earlier if possible.
