Overview
You join a global tech leader to advance medium-voltage power conversion. In this role, you lead R&D on novel MV converter architectures, taking concepts from architecture through prototype and lab validation. You’ll craft high-performance, multi-level converters and work with universities and partners to push the technology roadmap. This is a hands-on, research-driven position with opportunities to influence IP and drive cross-team collaboration in a multidisciplinary setting.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Lead and execute R&D activities for novel MV power conversion architectures and converter topologies
- Design and develop converter concepts from architecture to prototype and validation
- Perform parameter design, component selection, hardware layout, prototype build, testing, and verification
- Develop and evaluate multi-level converters, power semiconductors, magnetic components, modulation, and control
- Collaborate with universities, research institutes, and internal teams
- Identify emerging technologies and translate them into practical solutions
- Contribute to the medium-voltage technology roadmap and technical insights
- Generate ideas and contribute to intellectual property and patents
- Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers across disciplines
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Master’s or PhD in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
- Extensive hands-on MV and/or high-power power electronics experience
- Strong knowledge of multilevel converter topologies and architectures
- Experience with power semiconductors, preferably SiC/GaN
- Experience in power converter modulation and control
- Hands-on hardware design, prototyping, testing, and lab validation
- Knowledge of magnetic component design is desirable
- Familiarity with MV standards and insulation coordination is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and independent working style
- Ability to work across multidisciplinary and international teams
- Fluent English; willingness to learn German
