Overview
As an Application Engineering Manager, you lead a Pre-Sales Application Engineering team to deliver high-quality, timely support to sales, partners and end-users. You drive incremental product sales by building long-term relationships and guiding customers through the full selling process. You collaborate with Sales, Product Marketing, and R&D to shape solutions, run beta tests, and ensure expert demonstrations. This role combines technical leadership with customer-facing duties in a global AIDC/IA context.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Coordinate Pre-Sales Application Engineering activities within Product Group/territory and align with Sales and Product business developers
- Walk with sales to gather customer requirements and coordinate post-sale support with after-sales
- Lead escalations to ensure timely service and quality resolutions
- Coordinate and deliver training for the sales force and partners using material from Product Marketing
- Assist Product Managers and Product Business Developers in new product introductions, beta testing and training
- Define and manage laboratory equipment needs
- Monitor team performance against sales revenue, customer satisfaction, and sales-team satisfaction goals
- Support R&D and Product Managers in new product requirements, application needs, beta-testing and training
- Oversee marketing activities like training and exhibitions (demo setups)
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or computer science
- Fluency in German and English; additional languages are a plus
- 10+ years of experience in a similar role dealing with AIDC/IA customers and managing an Application Engineering team
- Strong background in PDA/PDT/Tablet products with comprehensive software and solutions knowledge
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Organizational leadership with a problem-solving attitude
- Autonomy and results-oriented mindset
- Customer-focused collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Technical understanding of electronic devices and circuits; ability to read schematics and data sheets
- Knowledge of PDA/PDT/Tablet product ecosystems and associated software/solutions
