Junior Digital Analytics Engineer (m/f/d) in Gräfelfing

Gräfelfing Vollzeit Homeoffice
Datascale One GmbH

You have run GA4 and Google Tag Manager in a real setup and want to learn how tracking architecture is built: server-side, BigQuery, consent. 100 % remote, full-time or part-time. Business-fluent German is mandatory, because the client work runs in German.

Salary: €48,000 to €58,000 gross per year for full-time, depending on experience within the range. Part-time pro rata.

Datascale builds the tracking and data architecture that our clients' marketing runs on. As a Junior Digital Analytics Engineer you implement tracking concepts: GA4 events, GTM containers, dataLayer specifications for the client's developers. You work on client projects from week one, with Alex or Juri as your sparring partner on every setup.

The path runs from client-side tracking to server-side GTM, the BigQuery export and Consent Mode V2. After 90 days you look after your first containers on your own, after a year whole setups.

Other companies call this role Junior Web Analyst, Tracking Specialist or Junior Digital Analytics Consultant. It is the same work.

Responsibilities

  • Implement tracking concepts in GA4 and GTM: events, conversions, custom dimensions, e-commerce tracking
  • Write dataLayer specifications that developers can implement without a follow-up call
  • Test and debug setups with DebugView, Tag Assistant and the browser console before the client notices anything
  • Document containers and setups so they keep running without you
  • Build Looker Studio dashboards and keep an eye on data quality
  • Join client calls with Alex and Juri: listen first, own your own topics after three months

What you bring

  • At least one year of hands-on GA4 and Google Tag Manager work in a production setup, not just a course
  • You can read a dataLayer, write a push and set a GTM trigger on it
  • Basic HTML, CSS and JavaScript: DOM, event listeners, browser console
  • A basic grasp of consent: what a CMP does, what Consent Mode V2 changes
  • You use LLMs for SQL, documentation and debugging hypotheses, and you check the output before it goes into a setup
  • Business-fluent German (C1 or better) is mandatory: the DACH market and client calls run in German. English at documentation level
  • Resident in Germany with a valid work permit at the start date, both mandatory
  • The habit of distrusting a number until you know where it came from

Nice to have

  • First contact with server-side GTM, stape.io or Cloud Run
  • SQL, ideally on the GA4 export in BigQuery
  • Meta Conversions API or Enhanced Conversions set up at least once
  • Piwik PRO, Matomo or Adobe Analytics seen alongside GA4
  • Shopware or Shopify: you have touched a shop system's dataLayer before

What Datascale offers

  • Mentoring from Juri and Alex, real projects instead of onboarding wikis
  • A short learning path with defined milestones in the first 90 days
  • A modern stack: BigQuery EU, sGTM, Plausible CE, funnel.io, Looker Studio, GA4
  • 100 % remote, full-time or part-time, client meetings mostly by call
  • No time tracking in 15-minute increments
  • Hardware of your choice, training of your choice
  • 30 days of annual leave for full-time, pro rata for part-time
  • One industry conference per year, Superweek, MeasureCamp or comparable, travel included
  • After the probation period: employer contribution to the company pension scheme (bAV) and €50 per month via Belonio, spent as you choose
  • Further benefits by agreement

Not an entry-level role for graduates. This position assumes practice: at least one year with GA4 and GTM in a real setup, whether at an agency, in-house, as a working student or freelance. Certificates and university projects do not replace that. If you have never debugged a dataLayer push, it is too early, and we would rather say so here than in the interview.
