Datwyler Group’s Global Category Manager for “Professional Services & IT” is responsible for the strategic procurement of assigned indirect categories, aiming to ensure cost optimization, supplier performance, and alignment with business requirements. Through targeted strategy development and execution, this position significantly contributes to operational efficiency and the enhancement of corporate value.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and execute global category strategies for Professional Services, Travel, and IT aligned with business and digitalization goals
- Act as a strategic partner for senior stakeholders and C‑level executives to align business and procurement expectations
- Facilitate critical decisions on sourcing strategies, supplier selection, and investment business cases
- Lead end‑to‑end RFx processes and tenders for services, projects, and framework agreements
- Negotiate commercial models, prices, and contracts for strategic suppliers
- Drive targeted cost reduction, cost avoidance, and value‑generation initiatives
- Establish, manage, and continuously optimize preferred supplier panels and frame contracts
- Enforce demand discipline, spend transparency, and strict procurement policy compliance
Our requirements
- Proven track record in Professional Services and/or IT procurement within an international environment
- Strong track record in managing senior stakeholders and executive level interactions
- Master’s degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Strategy, Operations, Finance, or Management Information Systems) or equal to at least 10 years of experience in global procurement
- High level of commercial acumen, analytical capability, and structured execution mindset
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive cost‑saving initiatives, achieving measurable improvements in efficiency and profitability
- Ability to analyze market data and trends to optimize strategies
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing complex contract negotiations
- Project management skills to support procurement initiatives
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English required, proficiency in German is a strong plus
