The Faculty of Medicine invites applications for a
Professorship (W2) (6 years/tenure track) of
Clinical and Experimental Neurotology
commencing as soon as possible.
The professorship will be located at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, University Hospital of LMU Munich.
The professorship represents the field of neurotology in research, teaching and patient care. Proven expertise in the fields of otology, neurotology and skull base surgery is desired, and a cooperation with the German Vertigo and Balance Center is mandatory. Moreover, the initiation of a translational research group on diseases of the vestibular and auditory system is expected. Experience in conducting clinical trials as well as national and international cooperation is obligatory.
LMU Munich seeks to appoint a highly qualified junior academic to this professorship and, therefore, especially encourages early-career scholars to apply. Prerequisites for this position are a university degree, a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification and a board certification in Otorhinolaryngoglogy. With an excellent record in research and teaching to date, prospective candidates will have demonstrated the potential for an outstanding academic career. The professorship is associated with the function as senior physician in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and the management of the section neurotology.
The initial appointment will be for six years. After a minimum of three years, it can be converted into a permanent position pending a positive evaluation of the candidate’s performance in research and teaching as well as his or her personal aptitude and if all legal conditions are met.
