Deep Piction is a Munich-based biotechnology company developing advanced drug-delivery, whole-body imaging, spatial biology, and AI technologies to accelerate therapeutic development.
We are looking for a Scientist – LNP Formulation & Preclinical Development (m/f/d) to join our nanotechnology team and support the development of Lipi GO, our targeted lipid nanoparticle platform for therapeutic RNA delivery.
About the role
This is a hands-on laboratory position for someone who enjoys designing experiments, formulating LNPs, troubleshooting, and working closely with biology and pharmacology teams to advance RNA therapeutics from concept to in vivo validation.
You will contribute directly to formulation development while helping coordinate internal and external preclinical studies in a dynamic biotechnology environment.
- Your responsibilities
- LNP formulation & characterization
- Prepare and optimize lipid nanoparticle formulations for m RNA delivery
- Characterize LNPs using DLS and related analytical methods
- Perform formulation optimization, stability testing, and troubleshooting
- Produce reproducible LNP batches for in vitro and in vivo studies
- Document formulation procedures, experimental results, and SOPs
- Preclinical development
- Plan and coordinate internal in vitro and in vivo pharmacology studies
- Design and monitor external studies with academic collaborators, CROs, and industry partners
- Coordinate external safety and toxicology studies
- Support assay development for formulation characterization and biological evaluation
- Analyze experimental data and prepare scientific reports
- Project coordination
- Write and review preclinical study reports
- Contribute to EIC, KMU, and other grant reports
- Support regulatory documentation and non-clinical development activities
- Establish and maintain organized data rooms for partners, investors, and regulatory interactions
- Implement structured data documentation and file-management systems
- Coordinate activities across the internal development pipeline
What we're looking for
- MSc or Ph D in biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biomedical engineering, nanomedicine, or a related field
- Strong hands-on experience with lipid nanoparticles or other nucleic-acid delivery systems
- Experience with LNP formulation, bioconjugation techniques, and physicochemical characterization
- Experience with m RNA, si RNA, or oligonucleotide formulations
- Experience with techniques such as DLS, Ribo Green assays, gel electrophoresis, or comparable methods
- Ability to plan experiments independently and troubleshoot technical problems
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and spoken English

- Experience with ligand-conjugated LNPs
- Experience with flow cytometry and in vitro LNP performance studies
- Experience supporting animal studies or managing external CROs
- Experience writing scientific or grant reports
- Knowledge of preclinical development and regulatory documentation
- A strong interest in translating research into therapeutic applications
