Software Engineer for Image Performance (m/f/d) – Bensheim, Germany

Your Role:

• Improve the x-ray image quality in dental medical devices in close collaboration with product management, production, dentists and orthodontists.
• Algorithm and software development (reconstruction, calibration, image filtering, artifact handling, compression) in a scrum team.
• Follow the current state-of-the-art technology, read papers or attend conferences.
• Support the product owner in defining epics, writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure unit and integration test coverage.
• Analyze image quality issues in production and in the field.

Your Qualification:

Education: MS or PhD in computer science, mathematics, physics or related engineering disciplines.

Years and Type of Experience:

• 3+ years experience in at least one of the following areas: Imaging, Image Processing and Computer Vision.
• Experience in processing large amounts of data.
• Experience in CI/CD, Containerization (Docker) and Cloud Computing (e.g., GCP, Kubernetes) is an advantage.
• Experience in the field of medical imaging, particularly CT imaging, and the development of medical devices is an advantage.

Key Skills, Knowledge & Capabilities:

• Ability to solve complex technical problems.
• Good knowledge in the programming language C++ or comparable.
• Good knowledge in Python is an advantage.
• Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken.
• Self-organized and self-reliant, but willing to learn and share knowledge.
• Technical enthusiast with a broad overview constantly eager to engage in new technologies and challenges.
• Open-minded, communicative, and strong commitment.
• High degree of initiative, commitment, and goal orientation.
