Overview
In this Head of Engineering role, you define and grow the Engineering function within DEPT’s Experience & Engineering team in Germany. You lead a team of 7–9 engineers and Team Leads, focusing on scalable systems, AI-driven development, and leadership development. You partner with Directors and VPs to shape the technology vision for the DACH region and drive a high-performance, inclusive culture. You balance strategy, operations, and stakeholder engagement to deliver impactful engineering outcomes.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Lead and mentor Team Leads and Senior Engineers, shaping their career paths and sub-team capabilities
- Define the AI integration roadmap for engineering workflows (e.g., Copilot, agentic workflows) and act as change agent to boost efficiency and innovation
- Own department operational performance, including resource planning, budget monitoring, and utilization to ensure profitability and scalability
- Partner with Directors and VPs to sharpen the technological vision in the DACH region and serve as senior technical sparring partner for key accounts
- Foster an inclusive, high-performance culture and establish rituals for knowledge sharing and innovation

- Proven people manager with experience leading a manager-of-managers structure or large engineering departments
- Vision for AI-enabled software development and clear plan to evolve engineering organizations
- Strong frontend background to validate architecture and mentor technically
- Business acumen to translate KPIs into actionable outcomes for an agency/consultancy
