JOB PURPOSE
As a Backend Shopify Developer, you will lead commerce projects and work on the development and maintenance of a number of our Shopify and Shopify Plus e-commerce websites, most of which are based on a headless approach. If you have built Shopify/Shopify Plus applications, led a team along the way, and have an understanding of how the overall architecture fits together with things like digital marketing tools, site management, etc., then this might be a good opportunity for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Build e-commerce solutions in Shopify and Shopify Plus;

• Own the backend development side of projects and develop technical solutions for our clients using Shopify;
• Contribute to the development of solutions using Next.JS / Node.JS;
• Implement data integrations into Shopify (ERP, PIM, etc.);
• Guide other developers and uphold quality gates through performing code reviews, meetings, and regular testing;
• Consult with clients, PMs, and POs on technical questions and solution ideas;
• Perform regular testing to ensure functionality, including logging issues, detailing bugs, and making recommendations to PMs for any improvements that can be made;
• Monitor and manage website uptime and performance;
• Work with PMs to support new business sales and pitches;
• Be knowledgeable in security/personal data protection principles and GPDR;
• Develop testing plans and troubleshoot issues related to eCommerce;
• Design and test pages on different browsers/devices/clients;
• Implement advanced debugging techniques and use browser developer tools.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 5+ years of experience with Node.JS / Next, and ideally good knowledge of React;
• 3+ years of experience in Shopify Development, including Shopify Plus;
• Experience leading at least one project and familiarity with all steps of the software development lifecycle;
• Experience guiding other developers and supporting them on technical challenges;
• Experience building, launching, and maintaining stores, as well as general knowledge of the admin system;
• Understanding of hosting, deployments, and pipelines;
• Strong understanding of Shopify 2.0 and working with a made theme and/or Storefront API;
• Experience with implementing/debugging 3rd party Shopify apps and creating custom solutions if necessary;
• Experience with Shopify’s objects/properties, API, and Meta fields;
• Thorough testing and debugging skills with browser console and external tools;
• Experience performing code reviews and upholding quality standards;
• Experience developing for responsive layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile;
• Experience working with 3rd party services and APIs, specific plugins for Shopify.
• Directly available to start working in one of the countries: Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, United Kingdom, Ireland;
• Professional working proficiency in German and English.
