Analytics and Insight Manager

As a member of our Economic Crime Risk & Compliance function, you'll play a key role in strengthening our understanding of financial crime risk across the Society. Using your financial crime and technical expertise, you'll use data to provide independent insight into the effectiveness of our controls and support the ongoing evolution of our approach to managing economic crime. This role sits within our Economic Crime Innovation - Analytics & Insight team in the second line of defence. The team's aim is to provide a data-led view of the Economic Crime control environment, supporting oversight, insight, and constructive challenge across a broad range of financial crime risks and controls. Your success isn't based on how long you spend at your desk. You'll have contracted hours, but we're always happy to support flexible working wherever we can. We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best. The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 28 and 35 hours. If you are based at an office location, you'll be expected to meet our hybrid working requirement of at least two days a week, or 40% of your working time if part-time, in the office. If you're based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events. • Experience of using data analytics in either a financial crime or an assurance role
• Strong analytical and technical skills, with experience using tools such as SQL, SAS or Python to work with large datasets
• Ability to translate complex data into clear, meaningful insight and story-telling that can inform decision making alongside the confidence to use data to provide constructive challenge, supported by evidence
• Strong problem-solving skills, with an inquisitive mindset and an interest in understanding how controls operate in practice
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams whilst maintaining independence of view
• Experience working with financial crime models or analytical methodologies
• Understanding of the broader economic crime control environment
• Interest in exploiting AI tools responsibly to improve insight, productivity and effectiveness in your day-to-day work
