We’re looking for a pro-active and experienced Global Member Communications Manager to join our team and be at the heart of shaping the future of Design Hotels‘ member communications. In this pivotal role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Director of Global Brand & Community, managing marketing and communications for our collection of unique, design-forward member hotels.
You’ll become a vital conduit of information across our organization, ensuring key updates, stories, and news from our member hotels are captured and shared with the right teams, at the perfect time, on the right channels—maximizing impact. As a tapped-in individual with a pulse on what’s next in travel, design, and culture, you’ll also bring fresh, creative ideas to the table to keep Design Hotels members at the bleeding edge of the industry, ensuring they remain connected on our latest happenings.
Tasks & Responsibilities
B2B Communications Planning
- Proactively own the global member (B2B) communications calendar, ensuring a regular cadence of communications, with consistent tone of voice and visual direction
- Coordinate with regional brand and community teams to ensure communication is consistent and coherent
- Oversee the internal communications plan, leading on the development and execution of regular newsletters (monthly internal update, quarterly business updates from Senior Leadership)
- Work cross-functionally to ensure that brand and community initiatives address key business challenges and work towards clearly defined goals
Member Marketing & Communications
- Manage communications to Design Hotels members (e.g., newsletters, invitations, leadership updates, webinars), including information gathering, copy briefing, webpage and email development and distribution
- Coordinate communications for Design Hotels member events in collaboration with the in-house creative team (e.g., event brief, communications, guest lists)
- Work with internal stakeholders and regional teams to ensure any ad-hoc communication to members maintains a consistent tone of voice and aligns with overarching communications plan
- Work closely with the commercial team to deliver annual members survey and manage other member feedback formats
- Establish effective ways of gathering news and information from our hotels, and distribute accordingly to maximize their exposure (e.g. share internally, via social media, newsletters etc.)
- Oversee conception, strategy and launch of a new Design Hotels community webinar series that equips members with new skills and ideas (coordinating with Senior Brand & Community Manager on content)
- Maintaining social media communication, relevant to Design Hotels members
- Managing and improving member onboarding communications and processes
- Ideate and launch new member communications initiatives (e.g. webinars, panels)
- Support the Account Management and Commercial teams to compile and roll-out department updates and annual Membership Services (MSP updates, services launch, webinar)
- Support with coordinating partner assets and communication deliverables at key brand activations
- Work with email software systems to build and distribute email newsletters and communication; providing insights and reporting to identify areas of challenges and opportunity

– Event Invitations (newsletters, RSVP pages, guest lists)
– New Member Emails
– Arena Communications (newsletters, guides, WhatsApp)
– Ad-hoc departmental updates
– Social Media Platforms
Internal & Leadership Communications
- Work with global teams to be on the pulse of what’s happening across the business, gathering essential information and prioritizing content that should be shared internally
- Prepare thorough briefs for the copywriting team to prepare internal leadership updates, monthly internal newsletters
Internal Communications channels include :- Internal Newsletter
– Business Leadership Updates
- Support Design Hotels’ presence at key industry events and trade shows ensuring communications are executed to a high standard, developed in collaboration with the Creative team (e.g. ILTM, ITB Berlin)
- Identify content opportunities from offline industry activations and coordinate within the global communications calendar
Brand Assets & Collateral
- Work with commercial and creative teams to develop and maintain Design Hotels brand collateral
- Identify collateral gaps and lead on brief development and roll out
- Create high-quality brand presentations for use across the business
Ideation and Innovation
- Propose creative ideas that build deeper engagement with Design Hotels members and wider creative community
- Provide ideas to maximize partnership opportunities and brand awareness for our hoteliers across owned B2B and B2C channels
- Identifying opportunities for partnerships among members where they can collaborate
Experience & Mindset
- 7+ years’ experience in a communications-orientated role
- Degree in marketing, communications or similar
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the hospitality and/or the travel/tourism industries beneficial
- Creative thinker with experience managing multiple communications channels
- Solution oriented, self-starter that works well in cross-functional teams
- Exceptionally well-organized and capable of working quickly and simultaneously handling several projects
- Strong writing, editing, and proof-reading skills
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with all levels of the company, including senior management
- Experience with email marketing platforms (Emarsys additional benefit)
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel and Keynote
- A great experience in the niche market of luxury boutique hotels
