About The Role

We are seeking an Application Engineer for our European Technical Organization, focusing on the Calibre line of products, a market leader in physical and circuit verification. The role involves working closely with customers and sales teams to manage technical engagements, promote product adoption, and support sales campaigns.

• Develop relationships with customers to assess their technical needs and demonstrate how Siemens EDA\’s Calibre solutions can meet these needs, including presentations, demonstrations, and technical benchmarks.
• Drive product integration into customer projects, creating methodologies and flows, and supporting infrastructure setup and new methodology debugging.
• Identify and qualify new opportunities, communicate technical viability to sales, and establish success criteria for engagements.
• Provide technical leadership during sales campaigns and share market, competitor, and technology insights to enhance competitiveness.
• Participate in marketing activities such as trade shows, workshops, and webcasts.

We seek a highly motivated, results-oriented individual capable of working in an international environment. The position can be based in any country within our central and northern Europe region (e.g., Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany) with some international travel within Europe and the US.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• BSEE or equivalent required; MSEE preferred.
• Proven experience as an Application Engineer or significant experience with physical verification (DRC, DFM) and circuit verification tools (LVS, PERC, PEX). Experience in analog or physical design is a plus.
• Broad understanding of verification methodologies and flows, with hands-on EM/IR experience preferred.
• Expert scripting/programming skills (TCL/Tk, Python) in CAD environments.
• Knowledge of rule deck writing (Calibre TVF, SVRF) and familiarity with netlist formats and interfaces.
• Experience with competitive tools and flows, compute farms, and Unix/Linux OS.
• Strong communication skills, ability to develop deep technical understanding, and prioritize activities based on ROI.
• Ability to identify new business opportunities and articulate them to sales management.
• Team-oriented, customer-focused, and motivated to work in a large team environment.
