Overview
MES Engineer (m/w/*) – Standort Kamen, Bereich Technology Advancement.
Responsible for the functionality, availability and stability of the Manufacturing Execution System (Critical Manufacturing MES) in continuous production, and for technical ownership of the MES environment.
Collaborate with Automation, Data, Quality and Process Engineering to advance digitisation and automation along the production line.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, further develop and optimise the Critical Manufacturing MES and its integration with related systems (e. g., SAP, Ignition SCADA, Historian, Equipment).
- Conceptualise and implement next expansion stages: e DHR, automatic data collection, GI automation, Recipe Management & Automation, Maintenance Digitalisation & Automation.
- Derive technical requirements from production processes and translate them into MES workflows, data models and automation interfaces.
- Conduct system tests, perform fault analyses and stability assessments to ensure robust MES operation.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, specifications and validation materials in a regulated medical devices environment.
Qualifications
- Technical university degree (Master) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Business Informatics or related disciplines.
- Proven experience with Critical Manufacturing MES (configuration, customization, extensions).
- Ability to derive requirements from production processes and map them to MES solutions.
- Experience with technical troubleshooting, system analysis and project management.
- Fluent German and English; strong teamwork and communication skills in a global, interdisciplinary environment.
- Beneficial: experience with Ignition SCADA (Perspective, Designer, tag/data model, scripting).
- Experience with SAP integration (S/4HANA, EWM), OPC UA, and SQL/databases.
- Knowledge of software development/scripting (e. g., C#, . NET, Python, Java Script) for MES extensions.
- Basic understanding of OT network security (segmentation, access controls, secure integration concepts).
- Experience with validation processes (CSV / GAMP 5) in medical devices or pharmaceutical industries.
