The Network Operations department of DHL eCommerce (eCom) is responsible for the design, steering and continuous optimization of international transport and network processes for cross-border eCommerce shipments. The function ensures scalable network structures, standardized processes and end-to-end transparency across intercontinental logistics flows. Senior Expert (m/f/d) Gateway Operations & Performance Management CopN-4 / AT nltd Level 1 (A14/A15 equivalent) Key Responsibilities: Senior Expert Gateway Operations & Performance Management (m/f/d) Ownership of the design, standardization and performance steering of international gateway operations within DHL eCommerce’s intercontinental network, ensuring reliable, scalable and transparent end-to-end transport processes while contributing to network performance, cost efficiency and operational resilience. Development and Steering of International Gateway Operations * Own the design, standardization and governance of gateway processes and operating models * Establish scalable and resilient gateway structures for intercontinental flows in alignment with central functions and country organizations * Identify, select and align suitable gateway locations and consolidation points within the network * Steer operational interfaces along the gateway value chain, including alignment with Air Operations, customs and compliance functions * Support country organizations in the implementation of standardized gateway processes * Contribute to the continuous development and scalability of the international cross-border network End-to-End Performance Management (Gateway-focused) * Define and govern gateway KPIs to ensure transparency across the transport chain * Analyze performance at key handover points and initiate corrective actions where required * Integrate external partners (e.g. brokers, airlines) into a unified performance framework * Drive cost transparency and identify efficiency improvement opportunities * Enable data-driven decision-making through structured performance analyses Analysis, Continuous Improvement and Operational Stability * Identify structural weaknesses in gateway processes and performance * Drive and implement continuous improvement initiatives * Identify operational risks and define mitigation and contingency measures * Strengthen the stability and resilience of gateway operating models * Ensure sustainable performance improvements in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and by considering cost and efficiency aspects Reporting, Systems and Project Work (Business Requirements) * Define and own business requirements for gateway processes in IT systems * Design reporting and measurement frameworks for Track & Trace and BI solutions * Contribute to enhanced end-to-end visibility and control tower capabilities * Support system implementations, testing and international rollouts * Ensure high data quality as the foundation for performance steering Professional Requirements: * University degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a comparable discipline * Several years of experience in international logistics or eCommerce networks, ideally in a gateway environment * Proven experience in process design, standardization and performance management * Experience working with international and cross-functional stakeholders * Strong analytical skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and Power BI * Solid understanding of track-and-trace systems and data-driven performance management * Fluent in English; German is an advantage Personal Requirements: * Strong analytical and structured mindset with advanced problem-solving skills * High level of ownership and results orientation * Ability to manage and align complex stakeholder environments * Confident communication in international and cross-functional settings * Independent, solution-oriented and pragmatic working style * Willingness to travel internationally (up to approximately 25 %) We stand for equal opportunities We value diversity and welcome all applications — regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic or social origin, religion or belief, disability, age, sexual orientation or identity.
