"Research for a life without cancer" is our mission at the German Cancer Research Center. We investigate how cancer develops, identify cancer risk factors and look for new cancer prevention strategies. We develop new methods with which tumors can be diagnosed more precisely and cancer patients can be treated more successfully. The Division of Biostatistics provides state-of-the-art statistical support individually tailored to all scientific duties of the DKFZ. We analyze data from various sources, from high-dimensional molecular data to data from in vitro studies and clinical trials. Our field of activity ranges from biostatistical consulting and statistical analysis of biomedical data to the development of complex methods for specific scientific questions. Our team strives to be at the forefront of interdisciplinary research and applied statistics.

YOUR TASKS

We are looking for a biostatistician with experience in randomized and/or observational clinical studies and in clinical trial methodology research who likes to work on challenging projects. We expect the candidate to continue existing and initiate new collaborations in national and international research projects as leading statistician.

Your duties:

  • Provide biostatistical support for researchers at the DKFZ in all phases of their randomized or observational trials, from trial design and data analysis to interpretation and publication of results
  • Develop and apply novel biostatistical methods and analysis strategies

YOUR PROFILE

  • Master’s degree, PhD in (bio-)statistics or biometry
  • Experience with design and analysis of clinical trials
  • Sound knowledge within the field of statistics
  • Solid statistical programming skills, preferably with R
  • Very good written and oral communication skills in English
  • Strong interest in interdisciplinary research
