Group leader (m/f/d)
The DZHK founded working group will be located at the interface of cell biology and rodent “proof of concept” studies and the transfer of innovative therapeutic approaches to patients. In addition to large animal models for cardiovascular disease, inducible pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and the cell types derived from them are also suitable for preclinical testing due to their proximity to patients. The working group is thought to bridge the translation gap through patient‑matched application techniques and working with human‑like species (NHP) as well as working with the patient's own material (iPSC‑based models) to characterize and optimize these models and thereby enhance translation.
We are looking for an individual with above‑average engagement and extraordinary, long‑ranging genuine interest in science. You should have a PhD in veterinary medicine, biology, biochemistry or related topics, and already have experience in large animal models and 2D/3D in vitro assays. The position is initially a full‑time, fixed‑term position till 31.12.2030.
You will join an ERC/DFG/BMFTR‑funded international research group in a well‑equipped and scientifically stimulating surrounding with communicative atmosphere. We offer support of your work and assistance in designing your own approaches as well as access to state‑of‑the‑art technologies to generate reliable results.
We offer a pleasant working environment, modern equipment, flexible and family‑friendly working hours, and the option for partial remote work. We also provide opportunities for professional development, as well as support for sustainable mobility.
