My client is an innovative medical technology company developing advanced imaging and AI solutions for healthcare diagnostics. As part of a major R&D programme, they are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to help develop next-generation computer vision and medical image analysis technologies.
Working within a multidisciplinary international team, you will contribute to the development, validation, and deployment of AI-powered solutions that support clinical decision-making and medical imaging workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise machine learning and deep learning models for medical image analysis.
- Train, validate, and evaluate computer vision models using large-scale image datasets.
- Build and maintain data pipelines, image processing tools, and software components.
- Collaborate with clinical and engineering teams on data collection, annotation, and model performance assessment.
- Support deployment of AI models into software products and GPU-based environments.
- Contribute to testing, validation, and technical documentation in line with medical device development standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Commercial experience in machine learning, with a strong focus on computer vision.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Knowledge of model evaluation metrics including ROC/AUC, precision, recall, sensitivity, and specificity.
- Experience working with large datasets and GPU-based training environments.
- Medical imaging, digital pathology, histology, or microscopy.
- ISO 13485, IEC 62304, or related quality standards.
- Cloud platforms and modern software infrastructure.
Location
Based in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, with flexible remote working available within the region. Occasional international travel may be required.
