Associate Machine Learning Operations Engineer (d/f/m)

DHL Data & Analytics is a Global Business Service Line in DHL Group, focusing on leveraging data to create business value. We are a dynamic, innovative, and globally diverse team with approximately 120 talented professionals, including Data Engineers, Cloud Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Data Scientists, and Architects. As part of our work, the team is responsible for creating and maintaining robust data platforms and data pipelines to ensure accurate and efficient data processing and analysis. Your tasks
DHL introduced a modern Kubernetes-based data science platform, making use of the open-source Kubeflow solution. Our environment gives you the chance to work with state-of-the-art open-source components combined with carefully chosen vendor-backed solutions.
We offer you training on the job, enabling you to become a confident Associate MLOps engineer who knows how to professionally build, deploy and run state-of-the-art machine learning use cases with cutting-edge technology.
You then help data scientists transition their activities from informal exploratory data analytics (e.g., based on Jupyter notebooks) to production-ready and structured ML pipelines, using Kubeflow Pipelines. Applying DevOps best practices, you help data scientists get more efficient at component reusability and observability. Using KF Serving, you guide data scientists on their journey to productize ML models for scoring/inferencing via web endpoints.
Together with our security and support engineers, you ensure the services run reliably and securely.
Your profile
- You bring:
- BSc / MSc in Data Science, (Business) Analytics, Computer Science, Maths, Statistics, Physics, (Industrial) Engineering or related natural sciences / technical degree
- Practical experience in Python programming
- Willingness to deepen programming skills in Python, with the large ecosystem of data science and ML-related libraries and components like scikit-learn, pandas, pytorch, tensorflow, and others
- Routine experience with common Python tooling like pip, conda, virtual environments etc.
- First practical experiences (e.g., internship in related topics)
- Fluency in English
- Learn and apply CI/CD and automation best practices with tools like Github Actions, ArgoCD, Terraform, Helm, and more
- Work with Docker and Kubernetes on various levels and on multiple platforms (on-prem, Azure, GCP)
- Work on a variety of state-of-the-art ML and AI solutions for a global company with many different fields of application
- Collaboration with Data Scientists
- Any open-source or proprietary ML lifecycle management tooling and platforms like AWS Sagemaker, Azure ML, Google Vertex AI, MLFlow, and others
- Knowledge about software engineering, cloud infrastructure, databases, data engineering or other related fields
- Additional programming languages
