What the Job Looks Like
Each day offers a variety of challenges, such as:
- Leading the tactical procurement within the “Source to Contract” (S2C) process, focusing on Raw Materials (API, Excipients, Chemicals), including RfQs, negotiations, and contracting.
- Providing support to spend areas, acting as a business partner and key contact for budget holders and leadership, guiding discussions on S2C processes.
- Managing assigned spend areas under the guidance of procurement leads, supporting strategy development, execution, and operational supplier performance management.
- Evaluating demand requirements, collaborating with sites and global teams, and analyzing data to identify opportunities for bundling, contracts, and catalogs.
- Promoting procurement awareness, ensuring process compliance, supporting vendor due diligence, and managing vendor master data.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
What You’ll Bring To The Table
To excel in this role, you should have:
- A University Degree in a relevant field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry, preferably in procurement, category management, or related roles focusing on Chemicals, APIs, or Excipients.
- Experience in negotiations and managing international suppliers.
- Practical knowledge of procurement processes and category strategy development and implementation.
- Understanding of supply markets, especially for Chemicals, APIs, or Excipients.
- A passion for continuous improvement, strategic thinking, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Supplier Risk Management and ESG principles.
- Stakeholder management, business acumen, and the ability to motivate others.
- Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus.
