Application Engineer

Our client, a leading international industrial company, is looking for a technically skilled and entrepreneurial Automation / Business Development Engineer to strengthen their European engineering and customer solutions team within the automotive sector .

The role combines technical project leadership, process development, and customer management — an ideal fit for an engineer with both a hands‑on and strategic mindset who enjoys connecting technology with business value.

Main responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate technical projects from concept through implementation, working closely with customers, suppliers, and automation integrators.
• Design and develop application processes for automation and production line solutions used in industrial and automotive environments.
• Serve as a technical interface between engineering, production, and business stakeholders, ensuring smooth process integration and optimization.
• Work directly with line managers and process engineers to identify efficiency improvements and implement practical solutions.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and technical partners during prototype and serial production phases.
• Support technical benchmarking and product development discussions , providing insights to internal and external teams.
• Deliver technical presentations and trainings to customers and internal colleagues when needed.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering , or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in product development, process engineering, automation, or production environments – ideally in the automotive industry.
• Experience managing multiple technical stakeholders (customers, suppliers, integrators).
• Knowledge of automation systems, production processes , and CAD tools ; experience with SPS / robot programming is a strong advantage.
• Entrepreneurial, business development-oriented mindset with strong technical curiosity.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a customer‑centric approach .
• Fluent in English , and basic German skills required.
