Senior Software Engineer- Backend (m/f/d)

Since 2015, we help enterprise clients and corporate spin-offs identify and execute strategies to solve marketing problems with technology, enable data-driven decision-making, and create business impact by leveraging marketing technologies.
At Digital Loop, we blend expertise from multiple disciplines. Our solutions evolve around strategy development, set-up of processes and guidelines, new or updated workflows, introduction of a tool or architecture, implementation of a custom digital product – or a combination of all of the above.

Tasks

Your mission

Your Role:

• Be part of our frontier projects in small engineering teams (2–5 people), building MVPs and production-ready systems that leverage Python (Django or FastAPI), LLMs, and modern API architectures.
• Design and maintain backends and digital solutions that integrate seamlessly with our LLM-first workflows.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in the field and determine the right tech stack and system architecture together with lead tech and product staff.
• Guide and upskill fellow engineers on backend, cloud, and best practices to ensure top-quality products and smooth collaboration.
• Continuously improve our backend ecosystem by introducing new tools, frameworks, and best practices—sharing your learnings within our tech community.

Requirements

Educational & Professional Background

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid changes common in early-stage product development, maintaining a drive to learn and experiment.
• Backend Engineering Expertise
• Deep knowledge in Python (Django or FastAPI) and a strong understanding of building, testing, and deploying APIs.
• Familiarity with LLMs (Large Language Models), AI workflows, or other advanced data-driven solutions.
• Ideally, you have experience with frontend technologies (React, Vue) and asynchronous processing frameworks such as message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Celery). Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and DevOps pipelines (CI/CD, GitOps) is a strong plus.
• Team & Communication
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal; German is a plus.
• Ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams, bridging marketing, data, and tech perspectives to deliver impactful products.
