Development and enhancement of tools, workflows, and integrations for digital long-term preservation Implementation of technical solutions within the team – from specification to configuration Analysis and improvement of existing tools, including bug reports and contributions to open-source components Collaboration with subject matter and operations experts to continuously optimize our systems Consulting with clients and analyzing individual project requirements Monitoring international developments and actively shaping best practices in digital preservation Documentation of workflows and preservation plans What you should bring
Education or professional experience in IT – you can program and are comfortable with typed languages like C#, C++, Rust, or Java Enjoyment of teamwork, creativity, and a structured, solution-oriented mindset Experience with tools like GitLab, issue trackers, wikis, and interest in modern development processes (CI, containerization, orchestration, testing strategies) Willingness to dive deep into complex systems and data, down to the byte level if needed, and share your knowledge with the team Initiative for professional and personal development and willingness to travel Ideally, initial experience with digital preservation, digital humanities, or cultural heritage Excellent German skills and technical English
