About the Role
The Manager Data Center (f/m/d) is responsible for managing and overseeing the performance of a data center site(s) in Frankfurt. They serve as the primary contact for site-related issues and aim to achieve operational excellence through the four strategic pillars: Service Excellence, Infrastructure Excellence, Sustainability, and Governance, Risk & Compliance.
Responsibilities
Operations & Compliance
- Manage the data center to ensure operational reliability, capacity management, and customer service performance.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements, including permits and site inductions.
- Implement and maintain site governance in line with SOC, ISO, and other standards.
- Oversee monitoring and energy management systems for energy-efficient operations.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop a team of site engineers and technicians.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and service excellence.
- Plan resources and utilize team effectively to meet business needs.
Incident & Risk Management
- Maintain a risk register for all assets.
- Meet customer SLAs and contractual obligations.
- Manage incidents and implement continuous improvements to reduce disruptions.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with Property Operations, Service Planning, and Customer Success teams.
- Manage site access, customer visits, tours, and audits as needed.
Budget & Strategic Planning
- Manage the site budget for cost-effective operations.
- Authorize capacity requests for power, space, and cooling.
- Develop and update a Multi-Year Site Plan including upgrades and replacements.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5–10 years in mission-critical mechanical & electrical environments, preferably in IT/Telecom.
- 3+ years managing teams.
- Experience in technical facilities management and governance.
- Knowledge of data center infrastructure and standards.
- Experience with maintenance management systems.
- ITIL and/or ServiceNow knowledge is a plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
