Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Low Level / Yocto) in Zürich

Join a scaling European communications company building a new hardware platform for communications used in high-consequence environments.

This is a senior, hands-on role for an engineer who wants to take a board from evaluation kit and early electronics through a dependable embedded Linux platform.

What you will own

• Bring up a new custom hardware platform, from first boot and early diagnostics through stable operation.
• Build and maintain the embedded Linux distribution and a clean, reproducible Yocto environment.
• Develop and debug Linux kernel components, device drivers, board support and low-level embedded C.
• Work directly with hardware engineers to isolate faults across schematics, silicon, firmware and software.
• Shape technical decisions for a greenfield product rather than inheriting a finished platform.
• Collaborate with a close cross-functional engineering team

Must-haves

• Strong embedded C and low-level systems programming experience.
• Evidence of bringing new boards or hardware platforms from first boot to a stable state.
