Responsibilities

  • Serves as a Branch Chief with supervisory authority over a subordinate staff that provides operational adviceand guidance in assigned areas.
  • Plans and integrates functions of the Branch supporting customers within the US European Command (EUCOM), US Africa Command (AFRICOM), and US Central Command (CENTCOM) areas of operation.
  • Plans and integrates functions of the Branch which may include the Subsistence Prime Vendor and Operational Rations program.
  • Provides direction and oversight for the implementation of evolving business strategies and acquisition initiatives at all levels in programs supporting EUCOM, AFRICOM, and CENTCOM.
  • Provides technical guidance at all levels on the Subsistence Prime Vendor, Clothing and Textile, Construction and Equipment, and Medical and Maintenance Repair Operations (MRO) programs
  • Responsible for the overall management of Troop Issue operational rations stocks located at depots throughout the areas of operation.
  • Ensures contract management, quality assurance, customer liaison, depot storage and all related program functions are in consonance with applicable DoW, DLA and DLA Troop Support policy guidance.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supervisory Product Business Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
  • Planning and integrating the functions of vendor programs in various operational areas.
  • Developing and implementing program concepts and initiatives related to business strategies.
  • Analyzing current methods, practices, workflows, and relationships related to operational programs to provide suggestions.
  • Coordinating contract management, quality assurance, customer liaison, and depot storage policies/procedures with internal & external personnel.
  • Developing new/revised methods, policies, procedures, and operating techniques to satisfy broad policy and technical requirements.
