Logistics Management Specialist

Responsibilities

• Serves as the principal DLA Energy planning advisor and consultant to the DLA Energy‑E/A Operations Division, USAREUR/AF for bulk petroleum logistics planning and execution in support of Army requirements in the USEUCOM area of responsibility.
• Advises units on various DLA Energy procedures with respect to wholesale fuels support, including procedures to document fuel ordering, receipt transactions, cancellation of fuel orders, billing issues, and submission of disputes.
• Works with the DLA Energy‑E/A Quality Manager to address fuel quality issues throughout the USEUCOM area of responsibility with concentration on USAREUR/AF activities.
• Coordinates on operational and contingency plans with the DCSLOG/USAREUR/AF G4, G5 planning staff and USEUCOM Joint Petroleum Office.
• Assists with the requirements process for long‑term planning of DFSP requirements and PCS contracts.
• Identifies facility/equipment constraints and recommends viable solutions to sustain warfighter support.
• Resolves operations plan shortfalls, limitations, and other conditions that affect DLA Energy's ability to perform its bulk petroleum logistics support mission.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support the required specialized experience.

• Specialized Experience
• Advising higher leadership of concerns, solutions, and revisions made regarding logistics and program performance.
• Evaluation of operational plans to determine areas of improvement.
• Coordinate and conduct quantitative and qualitative studies and analysis related to bulk petroleum requirements.

Experience includes paid or unpaid work, such as volunteer service in National Service programs (e. g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations.

All qualifying experience, including volunteer experience, is credited.

Physical Demands

The level of work involves frequent travel to foreign countries to perform required functions.

Some physical exertion such as long periods of walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, and moderate lifting is required.

At times, travel accommodations may be under tactical field conditions.

Germany Information

Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in Do D Instruction 1315.19.

If an employee brings a child to an overseas location entitled to a Do DEA school, the child will receive appropriate education services as specified in Do DI 1342.12 and Do DM 1342.12.

If an infant or toddler (up to 3 years) accompanies an employee overseas, they are entitled to Do DEA early intervention services.

Employees and family members requiring medical or dental care overseas are responsible for obtaining and paying for such care.

Access to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space‑available and reimbursable basis only.

S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.

Pay retention will be extended to eligible employees who apply through a formal recruitment program and are selected for a position at an overseas location.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
