documenta and Museum Fridericianum gGmbH is a nonprofit organization owned and funded by the City of Kassel and the State of Hesse. The nonprofit organization is responsible for the documenta exhibition, which takes place every five years, the Fridericianum, the documenta archive, and the documenta hall.

Lead Press (m/f/d)
Your Responsibilities:
- Helping to develop and implement our communications strategy in close coordination with the Head of Communications, the Artistic Director, and the Executive Board
- Conceptualization and operational management of the documenta 16 International Press Conference in close consultation with the Artistic Director
- Establishing and managing the international press center for documenta 16
- Operational management of media communications for documenta 16
- Leading the press team with respect
- Serving as the liaison to the Artistic Director
- Maintenance and expansion of the media network
- Crisis communication and monitoring of media coverage
- Organizing and conducting press conferences, interviews, and media events
- Drafting, editing, and coordinating press releases, statements, copy, speeches, and texts for flyers, the website, social media, informational brochures, etc.
- Point of contact for media representatives and the public
Your Profile:
Degree in Communication Studies, Journalism, Political Science, Public Relations, or a comparable qualification
Several years of professional experience in press and public relations
Media savvy, diplomatic skills, and a hands-on approach to work
A confident demeanor, even under time pressure or in critical situations
In-depth knowledge of current art and cultural discourse as well as social debates
Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English
Experience with social media and digital communication channels is a plus
