We are seeking a committed professional to join our team.

While this is a remote position not located at a physical Medtronic site, the candidate hired will be required to reside within the territory and drive to multiple accounts throughout the region.

A valid driver's license is essential for this role.

Across our global Neuroscience organization, we advance care for some of medicine’s most complex neurological and spinal conditions.

By combining innovative technology, data‑driven insights, and deep clinical expertise, we partner with physicians and health systems to improve how patients are treated and supported throughout their care journey.

Our Cranial & Spinal Technologies (CST) Operating Unit develops and delivers an integrated ecosystem of spinal implants, navigation and robotic guidance systems, advanced imaging, and data‑driven planning tools for complex spine and cranial procedures.

Platforms such as Ai BLE connect these technologies to enhance surgical precision, streamline workflows, and support improved patient outcomes across the globe.

At Medtronic, the Enabling Technologies (Neurosurgery) Sales Representative has the responsibility and authority to sell all Medtronic Surgical Technologies products to hospitals, physicians and other approved customers within the geographical limits of their territory to attain established quotas and sales objectives.

This is a field based role.

  • Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
  • To conduct face‑to‑face sales calls with physicians, nurses and other key purchase influencers in the sales territory to demonstrate, in‑service and sell Medtronic Surgical Technologies capital and disposable products.
  • Responsible for the successful execution of Sales Action Plans. This will necessitate use of own vehicles and transportation of some heavy pieces of inventory.
  • To plan, strategize and successfully execute sales calls to all relevant hospital departments, outpatient surgery centers and doctors’ offices in the territory.
  • Work or attend meetings and courses inside and outside the territory.
  • Provide support and service to clinical personnel as it relates to the Products in a surgical environment.
  • Keep and maintain any company owned property and inventory in good working condition.
  • Report competitive activity within the territory to the Region Manager, and maintain all records and reports as requested in a timely fashion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with the Medtronic Surgical Technologies Quality System.

Qualifications

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 8+ years of relevant sales, clinical, or related experience in medical device, Medtech, healthcare or life sciences; or
  • Associates Degree and 6+ years of relevant sales, clinical, or related experience in medical device, Medtech, healthcare or life sciences; or
  • Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of relevant sales, clinical, or related experience in medical device, Medtech, healthcare or life sciences.
  • Nice to Have: Preferences
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in medical device, medtech, healthcare, biotechnology, life sciences, or healthcare technology industries.
  • Experience supporting capital equipment, surgical technologies, robotics, navigation systems, imaging platforms, or other technology‑driven solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in a customer‑facing role requiring relationship building, influence, and consultative problem solving.
  • Experience working in operating room, procedural, clinical, or healthcare environments.
  • Proven ability to learn and communicate complex clinical, technical, or scientific concepts.
  • Experience collaborating with sales representatives, clinical specialists, physicians, surgeons, hospital administrators, or healthcare stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment.
  • Experience analyzing territory opportunities, customer needs, and market dynamics to support business growth.
  • Proven track record of achieving goals in sales, customer service, clinical support, or other performance‑based environments.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual communication platforms.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively within an assigned region.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
  • This position is based out of the Representatives’ residence where physical effort is minimal; must be able to carry products.
  • Approximately 50% overnight travel will be required via reps driving throughout territory; air travel when required.
  • Requires the incumbent to maintain and transport demonstration equipment to customers’ premises as required. 30% physical handling of this equipment is therefore integral to the position.
  • Preference will be given to local qualified candidates and candidates with Medtronic experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy. In addition, your driving record will be reviewed and will be considered as part of your application.

This position is 100% commission based. The Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals.
