Assembly Integration & Test Technician – Space Products (100% (m/f/d), Zürich) In Zurich awaits you a center of excellence for optical, quantum‑based communications and opto‑electronic observation and communication systems used in satellite and space technology. Your mission
Cleaning and preparation of components according to specifications.
Performs the mechanical integration tasks for space projects for components, sub‑assemblies, assemblies, instruments and systems according to the drawings and space industry requirements.
Documents that the integration steps are performed according to the procedure and maintains records for traceability (historical records, As‑Run procedures, As‑Built Components Lists).
Supports the project team for the test campaign, particularly for handling of the hardware and mechanical activities.
Technical support to the IVVQ Manager for the integration activities, in particular for detailing the integration steps, time needed etc.
Technical support to the Design Team, Technology Team and IVVQ Team to review the hardware designs to ensure Design for Efficient Integration.
Support for Incoming Inspections of Components and Assemblies when needed.
Packing of hardware for storage and transportation.
Manufacturing of mechanical components in the workshop according to the design drawing (drilling, milling, machining) – would be a plus.
Requirements
Educational Degree in Space or Electronic/Electrical Engineering.
Holding a proven experience in Opto‑Mechanical assembly and test, in either the space industry or a similar complex industry (e.g. defense, aerospace or watch industry).
Independent, careful and structured work approach.
Experience in working in a clean‑room environment is a plus.
Proficiency in English, German is a plus.
Ability to work within international and interdisciplinary teams.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to present ideas and listen to others’ ideas and cooperate in heterogeneous groups.
Structured, methodical working method.
Ability to proactively find solutions within the available timeframe and budget.
