Field Service Engineer – Raleigh, NC
The Field Service Engineer (FSE) provides onsite services to customers, performing installation, repair, and maintenance of Cepheid diagnostic equipment in a compliant manner. This role reports to the Regional Service Manager and is part of the North America Customer Care Operations Team.
Responsibilities
- Provide frontline support by rapidly resolving customer issues and troubleshooting, contributing to service revenue and ensuring strong customer contract retention.
- Travel throughout a designated service region on short notice to support products and field service partners, and conduct training to ensure operational performance and data quality.
- Work independently within a geographic territory, while fostering a team‑based environment with opportunities for benchmarking, mentoring, and receiving expert technical support.
Essential Requirements
- Ability to pass vendor credentialing requirements imposed by assigned customers, including background checks, drug screening, immunizations, and training.
- AA or Technical Trade Degree in Electronics or Engineering (or related discipline) or equivalent experience, with 2‑4 years of related work experience—or equivalent Military experience.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills; capable of presenting and training technical information.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment, manage time effectively, and document activities and expenses.
Travel, Vehicle Record & Physical Requirements
- Able to travel on short notice with periodic overnight stays; potential 75% travel.
- Potential on‑call and weekend shifts.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. to a height of at least 5 feet.
Preferred Qualifications
- BA Degree in Electronics or Engineering.
- 2–4 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS, MT, CLS).
Benefits & Compensation
The annual salary range for this role is $70,000–$85,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. The range may be modified in the future. Additional compensation may include bonus/incentive pay. Eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefit package that includes paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k). The position is eligible for a remote work arrangement in which you can work from home. Remote work details will be provided by the interview team.
