We love the magic of memory keeping
At Journi, we’re on a mission to build the world’s most-downloaded printing app.
With over 10 million users worldwide, we help people turn their favorite moments into beautifully designed Photo Books and Prints. Our smart AI makes the process fast, simple, and joyful, so our users can spend less time editing and more time reliving their best stories.
Now we’re expanding into new territory, building a new product experience from the ground up. We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic
Growth Marketing Manager
who will define how we market this new product. By joining project Firebird, you’ll be part of a small, high-impact team shaping something new from day one.
What you’ll do
Product Co-Ownership:
This is the primary growth mechanic, and making it work is your most important job. Contribute and collaborate with product teams to develop user flows, referral and sharing loops pre-launch to ensure an organic flywheel during and post launch.
App Launch & Go-to-Market:
Firebird is pre-launch. You’ll define how we go to market and execute it. Own the end-to-end launch strategy: from pre-launch seeding to App Store rollout to post-launch momentum including defining positioning, messaging, channel mix for GTM in collaboration with channel teams.
Mastering Retention:
Design and optimize the ’retention loops’ that create shared consumption moments and retain customers. Build and run CRM campaigns (push, email, in-app) around the emotional moments that matter. Define and track retention metrics that signal real habit formation.
Paid User Acquisition:
Paid is a scale lever, not an early shortcut. You’ll build the foundation and know when to turn it on. Establish mobile attribution and reporting from day one and define signals that tell you the organic loop is strong enough to amplify with paid channels.
Strategy, Measurement & Direction:
Own the growth model: inputs, outputs, and levers across the full funnel (acquisition, activation, invite rate, retention and monetization). As Firebird scales, help define the growth team structure and hire into it.
Your skillset
5-8 years in growth, performance marketing, or product marketing at a consumer app or mobile-first startup
Proven record of launching apps or features and measurably growing an install/user base from scratch
Experience designing and shipping referral, invite, or viral sharing mechanics, and measuring what actually worked
Hands-on experience running paid UA (Meta Ads, TikTok, Google UAC, Apple Search Ads) with real budget ownership
Solid grasp of mobile attribution (Adjust, AppsFlyer, or similar) and product analytics (Amplitude, Mixpanel)
Experience owning CRM tooling end-to-end (Braze, OneSignal, Klaviyo, or equivalent)
Strong analytical mindset: comfortable in spreadsheets, funnel models, and growth dashboards
Clear communicator — you can distil a complex growth strategy into a crisp plan and bring engineers, designers, and founders along
Nice-to-haves
You’ve been the first or only marketing hire at a startup. You know what zero infrastructure actually feels like.
Familiarity with ASO and organic growth channels (SEO, creator/influencer, community)
Experience in consumer apps in the photo, memory, family, or social space
Enough design sensibility to give sharp creative direction without being a designer yourself
An instinct for the emotional triggers that drive sharing in private, intimate contexts, not just conversion optimisation
What we offer A happy team makes for a happy workplace. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without our team, and that’s why we offer:
A fair annual gross salary starting at € 70.000. Our final offer depends on your experience and qualifications.
